This course investigates the typical clinical issue of negative body image and considers the role appropriate psychoeducation has in positive treatment outcomes. Participants will learn about macronutrients and understand how to educate clients, while maintaining a clinical role. Learning Objectives: Participants will recognize the intersection between body image, mental health, and disordered eating. Participants will understand how to utilize clinical tools and interview strategies to assess body image distress and related behaviors. Participants will be able to provide accurate, evidence-based information on basic nutritional needs and their connection to mood, cognition, and emotional regulation. 3 CE hours. NBCC Content Area: Counseling Theory/Practice and the Counseling Relationship, Human Growth and Development, Social and Cultural Foundations NASW Content Area: Clinical/Direct Practice, Cultural Competence / Diversity / Equity & Inclusion, Social Work Practice Across the Lifespan Instruction Level: Intermediate Embodied Training Institute has been approved by NBCC as an Approved Continuing Education Provider, ACEP NO. 8001.
